A seasoned Commercial Manager to take responsibility for their B2B business in Congo to replace the previous incumbent.
We conducted the project kick-off call with the General Manager, Congo to fully understand their business situation (including their business turnover, business model, challenges, plan, market share) and organisation (including the reporting line, structure, capability and diversity) as well as the specific criteria required for the candidate (including background, leadership, personality and culture fit). The ideal candidate for this role would be a local Congolese candidate with an Oil & Gas background and experience in operating in a similar business model.
Outside the traditional research and advertising strategies on our sister company’s CareersinAfrica website, GCC Search identified and mapped out 15 companies of a similar business whereby we searched for candidates with the relevant experience. From this mapping exercise, we were able to identify candidates who met the client's criteria and produce a longlist of 21 candidates.
Within 4 weeks, a credible shortlist of 4 candidates was presented to the Client. After 3 rounds of interviews with the all relevant stakeholders with comprehensive reference checks completed, a chosen candidate was offered and accepted the role. The candidate was from the client’s direct competitor and had 7 years of solid sales & marketing experience under his belt.
